The host plant of this jumping plant louse is Rough Trema (Trema tomentosa). The small dew-like bubbles are sugary liquid secreted from the tail end of the nymph and served to attract ants that farm this tiny for the sweet liquid. The ants then guarded the nymph from predators, a win-win relationship for both parties.
